Scary Hotel Bathroom
Created in Unreal Engine 4 and 3DS Max. Textured Using Megascans and Quixel Mixer.
Concept -
The concept of a blood filled bathroom for this project is actually imagination of a girl trapped inside a hotel and killed in the bathroom and taken away with a slashed hand left behind for an evidence of such brutal death. The way i tried to visualise this concept came from some of the games i played in early days like Silent Hill 4, Amnesia, Outlast etc.
Time Management -
As per about how I managed to do this project while doing a job is best part for me to remember about this project. I used to take a small coffee break after coming from job and start playing with these design tools to create a story. This project took 2 weeks to finish where I usually gave 3 hours per day and 8 to 10 on Sundays. It was fun doing this project.
Software Used -
This was a great project to do in Unreal Engine 4. I used completely dynamic lighting in starting of this project but as it came to an end, I switched to baked lightmaps. Because of Lighting quality and fast rendering. All the 3d objects in the scene were created inside 3DS Max. Most of the Texturing is done inside Unreal Engine with Megascans Materials and some inside Quixel Mixer for more control. I preferred not to use Substance Painter or Designer in this project because I was trying to see how far I can go with this new set of tools.
Overall Impact of the Project -
This project is only a part of Digital Media, targeting most of the gamer audience for scary visuals and 3D community online. Most of the projects that I did was only for my love towards creation. It is fun and love doing this as much as possible. And as always these projects are the stepping stone for future challenges.
